New Braunfels Texas is the site for the Veramendi Project, consisting of 2,430 acres right at the corner of Loop 337 and River Road. Veramendi is a new master planned community, strategically located in the Central Texas growth corridor between San Antonio and Austin. Veramendi's rich history began when the first recorded landowner, Juan Martin de Veramendi, received a land grant from the Mexican government in 1851. Veramendi will offer small town charm, and family friendliness with a wide variety of home and lifestyle choices and big city conveniences. The Word/ Borchers families created the vision along with ASA Properties, an Australian developer. The result will be a vibrant and dynamic community where people live, work, and play.
Phase 1 is now underway building a new NBISD school. There is 380 acres of non residential uses including a town center, corporate campus, a resort hotel, higher education campus, and two elementary schools. An abundance of public parks with hike and bike trails, 480 acres to be exact!

New Braunfels presents a new and active lifestyle while offering proximity to the metropolitan areas of San Antonio and Austin. It is going to be a big change to a New Braunfels citizen that has lived here practically all of her life. Watching the beautiful Texas Hill country which is on either side of River Road fade away. It makes me sad, but I am also glad that it will continue to enhance New Braunfels.
